Following the release of their much anticipated album ‘Love Is The Call‘, Liverpool’s CAST embarked on a headline tour across the UK, performing to a packed out O2 Academy in Leeds, with a variety of new tracks and timeless classics thrown into the mix.

A technical glitch interrupted the introduction of ‘Sandstorm‘, so things didn’t get off to the best start. Nevertheless, it was an easy fix, and the set quickly began. The crowd-pleasing fan favourite served as the ideal prelude to their tremendous 19-song set.

The band’s new song, ‘Bluebird‘, is a more subdued number that gives John Power a brief moment of attention before returning with their most recent singles, ‘Love Is The Call‘ and ‘Love You Like I Do‘, which were warmly welcomed by everyone in the room.

Another everlasting classic, ‘Guiding Star‘, never fails to get people dancing with its catchy chorus and is still one of their standout songs overall. Three more tracks from their most recent album were released shortly after, and as the evening wore on, fans began to recognise each one, indicating that the record had already become ingrained in the consciousness of a large number of people.

The calming ‘Walkaway‘ eventually emerged, much to the delight of many fans, with the Leeds audience yelling out the words as loudly as John Power could. This was after another several new tunes were introduced into the latter section of the performance. Following a short break, the band returned to the stage to a thunderous applause as the evening was coming to an end. CAST delivered a fantastic performance that left them leading the way into 2024. The electrifying ‘History‘ and the powerful ‘Alright‘ rounded out the evening in style.
