What better way to start 2024 than with a UK tour that visits several towns and places that aren’t on the usual touring circuit? During his ‘Your Town‘ tour, JAKE BUGG accomplished just that. He treated the audience to not one, but two performances every night, starting with an acoustic warm-up and concluding with the customary full band show in the charming city of York.

When the room finally filled up, JAKE stepped onto the stage to a thunderous applause as he prepared to play a selection of his more subdued songs to get the York audience warmed up. To the joy of the audience, ‘Strange Creatures‘ opened the evening. A number of overlooked hits, like ‘Country Song‘ and ‘Love Me The Way You Do‘, were a pleasant addition to the early performance. Many people in attendance were singing along to ‘Simple As This‘, one of his most popular acoustic songs from his debut album, as his acoustic performance came to an end.

Following a short break, JAKE returned to the stage with his band, as the audience was eager for some more energetic hits to groove to. The Nottingham star’s electrifying performance began with ‘Trouble Town‘, then ‘Messed Up Kids‘ from his sophomore album ‘Shangri La‘ came shortly after. Following an excellent mix of his newer songs, the powerful ‘Seen It All‘ was the one that brought the Yorkshire audience back to their former ways. This festival anthem was a hit with everyone in the venue, from the standing visitors to those seated jumping around.

As the full band performance continued, tracks from his debut album started to sound to flow into the setlist. Even after all these years, the poignant song ‘Broken‘ still pulls on the heart string, and every time the words are sung so beautifully, the entire room joins in. But ‘Two Fingers‘ and ‘Lightning Bolt‘ provided a swift change of pace and got the house rocking once more. To top off the evening, everyone enjoyed the more pop-oriented song ‘All I Need‘, which served as the last song before JAKE BUGG thanked the crowd and exited the stage to a huge roar from across the room.
