The legendary FRANK TURNER set out to do what had never been accomplished before, perform the most gigs in different cities across the UK in 24 hours. FRANK offered fans who pre-ordered his tenth studio album, ‘Undefeated‘, the opportunity to see him in a stripped-down intimate setting and take part in the world record attempt on Saturday May 4–Sunday May 5, 2024, in support of the Music Venue Trust and independent record stores and venues across the nation.
The second show of the world record attempt took place at Huddersfield’s premier music venue, the Parish. Entering its 18th year, the venue has hosted big names since shifting from down the road during the pandemic, which TURNER brought up he was involved with to attempt to save the original venue back in 2020. The room quickly filled up for its 2pm start time, a welcomed timing considering most shows end around 11pm, with some shows further south taking place in the early hours of the morning the next day due to the amount of shows FRANK set out to do.
FRANK wasted little time in entering the stage and getting things going due to the sheer volume of performances he set out to do. He was welcomed by a huge roar of cheers from the sold-out Huddersfield crowd as he stepped out from the wings, and kicked off the set with ‘No Thank You for the Music‘, The whole room were singing along to ‘Girls in the Record Shop‘ and ‘Never Mind the Back Problems‘, demonstrating how ingrained the new songs had become in the minds of the fans.

TURNER went on to tell the tale that inspired his song ‘Letters‘, which kept everyone on their toes until the very end with its happy ending and was met with a cheers and applause across the room. The audience cheered loudly as FRANK introduced the last two tracks taken from the album, ‘Show People‘ and ‘The Real Damage‘.
As the show was coming to a close, it was time to take it back to 2010 with the pinnacle ‘I Still Believe’, which saw both TURNER and the crowd go all out for the song, with track remaining a mainstay of Turner’s sets since its release almost 15 years ago.
The crowd enthusiastically joined in during the chorus of ‘Do One‘, which concluded the brief but special performance. It serves up as a perfect warm-up for him when he embarks on his UK tour with The Sleeping Souls in July and performs show #3000 at the renowned Alexandra Palace in 2025.
FRANK TURNER successfully completed the world record attempt and is now the holder of ‘Most Gigs in Different Cities in 24 hours‘ after performing 15 shows across the UK.
