Following the success of his acoustic tour earlier this year, TOM MEIGHAN wasted no time in returning to South Yorkshire for another show on his RAW tour, this time at a sold-out Garrison in Barnsley.

South Yorkshire native SAM SCHERDEL made his way on stage as a solo act rather than his regular full band performance. Despite being the sole member on stage, his songs remained intact. 2023’s single ‘R.E.T.R.O‘ complemented this acoustic performance, ‘Breathe‘ and ‘How the Devil You Doing?‘ highlight SAM‘s raw talent. To get the place even more worked up, he covered Elbow’s ‘One Day Like This‘ with a mashup of ‘Hey Jude‘, which had everyone singing around the room and capped off the Yorkshireman’s outstanding opening performance.

The crowd was well and truly warmed up, and it was nearly time for the main event. Cheers erupted as the folk saw TOM MEIGHAN emerge from his dressing room and make his way from upstairs to the stage. As the Leicester man arrived, the entire venue erupted. In typical fashion, ‘Club Foot‘ opened the set and the Barnsley audience began the Yorkshire chants immediately after, much to TOM‘s pleasure, but the show quickly progressed. Solo tunes ‘Rise‘ and ‘Don’t Give In‘ drew in die-hard fans while providing a little respite for those more familiar with Kasabian hits, just in time for ‘Days Are Forgotten‘ to ramp up the pace.

The fan favourite ‘Underdog‘ was up next, and the entire venue was singing as loudly as they could, to the point that TOM‘s voice was no longer audible, but instead the Barnsley people carried this hit as if it were a festival performance. Further tunes ‘Would You Mind‘ and ‘Shout It Out‘ received huge applauses, with the latter following ‘Where Did All the Love Go‘, which kept the energy levels high.

Empire‘ went down a storm as expected, whilst ‘L.S.F‘ demonstrated how determined the Barnsley mob are out there to outperform the rest of Yorkshire. As the song came to an end, the crowd continued it for another minute, all while TOM smiled and thanked the patrons for their efforts. The event culminated with none other than ‘Fire‘, with both MEIGHAN and the audience going all out for the evening’s last smash. With his eyes set on a full band tour later this year, his return to Barnsley will only add to his already spectacular acoustic performances.
