After nearly four years of delays due to the global pandemic, BOSTON MANOR and their Australian friends TROPHY EYES finally returned to the road together, both performing in front of a sold-out crowd in Leeds, alongside the one of the most exciting bands in the UK currently, SPLIT CHAIN. Now their new album ‘Sundiver‘ has been revealed to the world, the band embarked on their biggest UK tour to date.

Kicking off the night was the dark grunge-emo band SPLIT CHAIN. This was a piece of cake for the Bristol based outfit, who have become a staple in the UK scene right now and have a tonne of experience under their belts already. Having already played the venue earlier in the year when they toured with Superheaven, their sound is unmatched and fits many different line-ups which shows the diversity they are able to deliver. Frontman Robert Martinez has dropped the guitar and now owns the microphone naturally, whilst the rest of the bands energy was a constant factor during their set. Tracks ‘Future‘ and ‘Chalk‘ encouraged plenty of headbanging from the crowd down the front, with each song getting the crowd approval.

After selling out the same venue back in April, Australian punk rock band TROPHY EYES made a swift return to the UK. Their visit to Yorkshire was much anticipated, and as they made their spectacular entry to ‘Enmore’, the audience was just as excited for them as they were the headliner. ‘Blue Eyed Boy‘ had a major stylistic impact on the establishment, with the dance floor and stage tempo was maintained with the audience favourite ‘Breathe You In’, whilst ‘Figure Eight’ really cranked it up a notch as people started piling on top of each other while screaming the words along the whole time. The Aussie lads still managed to garner a huge crowd as they wrapped up their remarkable performance with ‘Chlorine’ to cap off their welcomed return to the UK.

With a new record under their belt and having made their mark in Leeds for the second time this month, BOSTON MANOR really stepped it up this time. Things were looking bright for the fellas from Blackpool, with a sold out Project House crowd awaiting them, ‘Datura‘ opened the show to get the place pumped up, but ‘Container‘ and ‘Floodlights on the Square‘ really got the ball rolling. Despite lead singer Henry Cox was still feeling under the weather, the Leeds audience once again provided the ideal support for him as the whole room sang along throughout the entire set. Guitarist Ash Wilson captured the spirit across the venue with his movement on stage, and the fast paced song ‘Sliding Doors‘ was a stellar match. Trophy Eyes’ frontman John Floreani joined the band for ‘Liquid‘, exactly like he did on the album track and nailed the live version to perfection.

HEAT ME UP‘ was arguably the most well-received song from ‘Sundiver‘, with further material ‘Dissolve‘ and ‘Fornix‘ keeping fans of the new record entertained. The crowd-pleasing ‘Halo‘ showcased the love for their older work, which was then soon followed by ‘Passenger‘ and ‘Foxglove‘ which elegantly concluded the band’s second Leeds performance in September in captivating style.
