Leeds indie rock icons KAISER CHIEFS will celebrate 20 years of their debut album ‘Employment’ with a series of headline performances across the UK next summer.
Peaking at #2 in the UK album charts back in 2005, the album includes huge hits from the band including ‘Oh My God‘, ‘I Predict A Riot‘ and ‘Modern Way‘ saw the Yorkshire band become a huge name in the scene immediately.
In a press release, the band said “20 years ago, a brand new song by a brand new band was released. I Predict A Riot was the start of something really special for some musicians from Leeds. And the album that followed, Employment, changed our lives and has soundtracked the lives of millions of others since 2005. In 2025 we are saluting 20 years of that album and everyone is invited. Come celebrate the 2000’s, loving everything less & less and stripey blazers taking over the world. See you all next year.”
As part of the celebration shows, the band will be returning to their hometown of Leeds for a huge event which see’s a number of support bands also celebrating milestones of their own.
RAZORLIGHT will be performing a 20th anniversary set of their debut album ‘Up All Night‘, fellow Yorkshire band THE CRIBS will celebrate 20 years of ‘The New Fellas‘, as well as WE ARE SCIENTISTS will honour ‘With Love and Squalor‘. Merseyside’s THE CORAL and West Yorkshire’s ELLUR complete the line-up for what is set to be one of Leeds’ biggest shows of the year.
