2024 has been one of THE LIBERTINES‘ biggest years yet as a band, from a series of intimate shows to start off the year, a #1 album and a huge UK tour that they are in the middle of currently, the band have already revealed plans for next year.
Kicking off their run of outdoor summer shows, the band will return to Margate Dreamland for a special hometown performance, with special guests SOFT PLAY joining them on the line-up.
THE LIBS will then make their way up to Yorkshire as part of Halifax’s summer series at The Piece Hall for their debut at the iconic venue, which has hosting a range of huge names over the years including Biffy Clyro, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Shed Seven.
Finally, the band will play a huge outdoor show at London’s Gunnersbury Park next August, with a star studded line-up including SUPERGRASS, who are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic debut album ‘I Should Coco‘. Danney Goffey of the band said “We are so pleased to be involved in the Gunnersbury Park gig with The Libertines and all the other great bands playing on the night. Gunnersbury Park is a really amazing venue to see bands perform. We first played with The Libertines 22 years ago back in 2002 when we took the fledgling band on tour with us. Wow… time flies when you’re having fun. See you there!”
Punk rock duo SOFT PLAY, Brighton’s LAMBRINI GIRLS, DIY garage outfit REAL FARMER and East End’s HAK BAKER make up the announced line-up for London.
In a press release, the band said “The old white mansion in Gunnersbury Park is in one of our favourite films, The Lavender Hill Mob, so we thought we’d bring the Eastern Esplanade mob and some spiky guitars to that Arcadian glade in West London for a a good ol’ homecoming knees up. Look forward to seeing you there, along with our friends Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer. Love Peter, Carl, Gary and John X”
