Indie-rock quartet THE CLAUSE brought their highly anticipated ‘Weekend Millionaire’ Tour to Glasgow’s iconic King Tut’s on 29th November.
Glasgow four-piece band COSMIC EMPIRE opened up the night at 7.45 pm, with a range of alt-rock ballads to warm up the crowd. Hit tracks included ‘Shoreline’, their debut single released on Spotify, as well as their unreleased ‘Nothing Stays The Same’ that closed their set with high energy and an active crowd.

TOM A. SMITH then played his supporting set, including his 2022 single ‘Never Good Enough’ getting the crowd to join in for the lyrics “I try so hard / But it’s never good enough”. His latest track ‘I Don’t Want You To Have To Remember Me For Longer Than You Ever Knew Me’ featuring the Edinburgh-based band Swim School also highlighted the set, warming up the Glasgow crowd before The Clause took the stage at 9.30 pm.

Kicking off with ‘Fake It’, it was clear THE CLAUSE had many loyal fans in the crowd with several fans singing every word. Originally from Birmingham, THE CLAUSE are made up of lead vocalist Pearce Macca, bassist Jonny Fyffe, Niall Fennell on drums and Liam Deakin on guitar. The dynamic quartet confidently blend their 80’s indie sound with an exciting modern feel, giving them a music style that’s both nostalgic and current to the appeal of many indie-punk, rock and roll, and alternative crowds.
Following the release of their latest EP ‘Weekend Millionaire’ on 18th October, THE CLAUSE continued their set with ‘Stop The World’ and ‘Never Ending Affair‘, illustrating the ups and downs of falling in love, and asking a fan in the front row if they were in love.

‘Fever Dream’ was a crowd favourite with active mosh pits, chants, and eager fans showing their appreciation from all corners of the room. Having previously supported The K’s, The Lottery Winners and The Snuts, all known for their loyal and active fan bases, it’s no wonder THE CLAUSE are already so successful in building their own following.
A more raw and emotional side to the band was shown during ‘Where Are You Now?’ where frontman Pearce shared his experience with grief in losing someone close to him at the age of 17. He dedicated the track to anyone in the audience that had also experienced loss. The Glasgow crowd then shone their phone flashlights to show their support, creating an emotional atmosphere filled with a powerful sense of solidarity throughout the room.

The encore finished on a high with their hit singles ‘Time of Our Lives’ and ‘In My Element’, the latter of which marks 2.5 million streams on Spotify.
The Clause are set to finish their UK and Europe tour in Paris on 17th December and already have several summer 2025 dates booked, including a slot at Truck Festival, Tramlines and Kendal Calling.
