South Yorkshire band THE ROSADOCS returned to The Garrison in Barnsley for a sold-out performance in support of grassroots venues as part of Independent Venue Week. The five-piece indie rock band, who had their biggest gig in Sheffield last year, have no complaints returning to smaller venues; in fact, this one is one of their favourites.
Having supported The Rosadocs at their sold out City Hall show back in 2023, Leeds quartet THE SLATES were invited back to play alongside the headliner once again. With their tunes full of thumping choruses and John Squire-esque guitars, the Yorkshire band delighted the crowded Barnsley audience and thrived on their interaction. Their track ‘What Have You Done?‘ was the most well-received of their set, and based on both their performance and the audience’s reception, a to return to the venue in surely on the cards.
THE ROSADOCS received a thunderous cheer from the packed house as they made their way on to the stage. The band began with ‘At Your Door‘, and their fans immediately joined in, ensuring that the atmosphere was lively. Soon after, the unreleased ‘Bittersweet‘ increased anticipation for its eventual release, whilst ‘Towards the Sun‘ got the place moving once again.
Halfway through the set, the band brought it down a notch with ‘Where You’re Supposed to Be’, a much-needed calmer rendition, before going back to their usual upbeat songs. The crowd continued to sing along to their new single ‘Too Much Time‘, while ‘Say Something‘ got the place jumping once more. For ‘Run Away Instead‘, frontman Keelan made his way through the crowded dance floor before encouraging everyone to leap for the conclusion. ‘Concrete‘ was the band’s final song of the evening before they left to a thunderous applause from the Barnsley audience.
Kicking off their 2025 in style, this year is shaping up to be The Rosadocs’ most exciting yet.
