Continuing their celebrations of the release of their sixth album ‘Love Your Neighbour’, London indie rockers THE RIFLES returned to The Leadmill to deliver a set filled with some of their biggest anthems, as well as giving fans the live experience for their #1 Independent Album.
Unleashing into a crowd pleaser from the start, ‘Local Boy’ kicked off set list in style. The Sheffield crowd were bouncing and singing along immediately. Keeping up the energy in the room, THE RIFLES continued with a range of upbeat indie songs as ‘Go Lucky’ and ‘Heebie Jeebies’ both set up the 10 year celebration of ‘None the Wiser’. Their debut effort ‘Peace & Quiet’ was arguably the rowdiest of the lot, the place was electric and the band were just as involved as the crowd was. One of their latest singles ‘Days of Our Lives’ followed, whilst another fan favourite ‘The Great Escape’ allowed the audience to let loose once more before the band took a more subdued approach.

Midway through the show, a trio of acoustic songs entertained the room, with ‘The Hardest Place to Find Me’ serving as the last of the three.Returning to normal service, THE RIFLES picked up the pace once again, with a strong second half of the show including ‘My Life’ and ‘Robin Hood’ before finishing the set with ‘Starting Monday’ before bowing out and exiting the stage.
It wasn’t long until they returned for the encore, with two more songs still to feature. ‘Under and Over’ and finally ‘Romeo & Julie’ concluded the band’s performance in style, whilst the Sheffield audience began pouring out of the venue, chanting the band’s name through the city centre streets.
