Herefordshire indie-pop quartet PENTIRE kicked off their 2025 with the release of their brand new EP ‘Love On TV‘. We sat down with the bands vocalist Jack Morgan to discuss the response to the bands new music, their upcoming UK tour, life on the road and much more.

What has the reception been like on your new EP ‘Love On TV’ ?
Jack: It has been really good. We’ve had our best streaming numbers from it. People have been messaging us saying how much they love it. It’s been really incredible. We didn’t expect it to go down as well as it has, and I am so glad it’s finally out as it took so long to write. Seeing people connect to the songs is a lovely feeling.
–
Was the structure behind this EP different to 2023’s ‘Now In A Minute’ ?
Jack: Definitely. Every day we learn how to communicate better and work together as a team. Although the actual process hasn’t changed, I will write a song on an acoustic guitar and I will take it to the guys for them to add their parts. We did a lot more collaboration this time. We were a lot more fluent this time around, and not scared of changing things which is a good thing to be in as a creative.
–
How is the studio experience for you as a band?
Jack: I love it to be honest. The way we work is we get the drums down beforehand, and then we work with our producer Tom and we will go in to add guitars and bass for example, and end up creating something completely different to what we had planned originally. One thing we love doing is leaving it open to the studio. It is a creative environment with minimal distractions. It is quite healthy for us as a band and being able to leave it the last minute essentially is quite nice.

Your UK headline tour starts this week. How excited are you to be getting back out on the road?
Jack: We’re absolutely buzzing. Some of the shows have sold out, so it is going to be busy. That is what makes it so worthwhile, we’re excited.
–
What is life like on the road for Pentire?
Jack: It is really good fun. We are all mates, even our crew. Sam, who is our sound engineer, is one of my best mates from university. We lived together in second and third year and now he has gone on to do it as a career. It is amazing. It is like a holiday with your mates, but you get to stand up on stage and fulfill our dreams. We like to go out and explore as it isn’t very often we are in the cities when we aren’t on tour. We like to know our surroundings, try new things, and eat good food.
–
There are three sold out shows on this tour, with more close to selling out. How does it feel that you are now selling out shows in these bigger venues?
Jack: It means so much. It isn’t just the fact that we are playing to a sold out crowd, it also pushes the other shows too. It is cool to have that validation in a way but also having the reassurance that when we walk out on stage, the space in front of us is going to be full of people.
–
Does this now give you the urge to go on and take on bigger rooms for your next UK tour?
Jack: Absolutely. There is always room for growth. It is scary putting bigger tours on, one day you could fall off the curve. This tour in particular was very scary as back in 2024, we were doing shows in 100-200 capacity rooms, with every date selling out, which was a dream come true. So when this tour came around and every show is in a 400 capacity room, we had to up our game. Having three of the shows sell out and more potentially on the way, we are very pleased.
–
You have some festivals announced already for 2025. Have you seen that people who have discovered you at a festival are now attending your shows?
Jack: Definitely. As punters ourselves, we pride ourselves on if we are supporting someone, we get in the mosh pit for their set or if we are at a festival we will stay for the whole weekend. We use a festival to go and explore new music and I am sure most people do. When we played at Y Not Festival and we walked out to a full tent, it clearly had an impact on our numbers for socials, streaming, ticket sales etc. You can’t beat discovering a band in person.
–
What plans do you have for the remainder of 2025?
Jack: There will be more live shows, potentially altogether. We are planning a lot of big stuff. We missed out on some cities on this tour so who knows.
–
What are your rider essentials?
Jack: We love red wine and Guinness. We tend to get a buy out so we can go out and buy our own food instead. It is important to not live off McDonalds for two weeks and end up getting ill. We have had some weird stuff over the years. When we were on tour with Milk, we ended up with chocolate, crisps, and just stuff that really isn’t good for you.
–
How important is it for you to look after yourselves on the road?
Jack: It is really important. Our manager checks in with us a lot to make sure we are on the ball with it. I have bought a nebuliser that keeps my vocal cords hydrated. We are not athletes by any means, but we always make sure we are on our A-game and perform at our absolute best. The London show might get crazy afterwards as it is the last show.
–
Do you have any final words for your fans?
Jack: We absolutely love our fans to bits. This time around with the tour and EP it feels next level with how much we love we’ve received. It feels amazing and getting to play to sold out crowds and bigger venues shows the growth not only as an artists but fanbase too so long may it continue.
