Making its debut in Liverpool, the bank holiday extravaganza that is BBC RADIO 1’S BIG WEEKEND returns for 2025, with yet another stacked line-up that will grace Sefton Park.
Over the years, the festival has taken place in place such as Hull, Dundee, Coventry and Luton, bringing huge headliners and future stars to the city, as well as people watching at home via BBC iPlayer and listening live to BBC Radio 1.
This years headliners come in the form of Bedford star TOM GRENNAN, one of the biggest names on the planet right now, SAM FENDER and the returning MUMFORD & SONS.
GRENNAN is set to release his new album ‘Everywhere I Went Led Me To Where I Didn’t Want To Be’ on 15th August 2025, having achieved two UK #1 albums with his second and third records. TOM made his debut at the festival back in 2022 on the ‘Radio 1’s Future Sounds’ stage, before opening the main stage the following year.
SAM FENDER recently released his third studio album ‘People Watching‘ back in February, achieving his third straight #1 album. The Newcastle born artist debuted at the festival back in 2019, with appearances then extending to 2022 as one of the ‘Radio 1’s Future Sounds’ stage headliners.
Finally, MUMFORD & SONS top the bill for a second time after previously headlining the 2016 festival which took place at Powderham Castle, Exeter. The band are set to release their long awaited fifth album ‘Rushmere‘ on 28th March 2025.
The Friday line-up includes Scottish rock legends BIFFY CLYRO, indie icons THE WOMBATS, as well as singer-songwriter KATY B, PAIGE TOMLINSON, CONFIDENCE MAN and many more.
Saturday includes BLOSSOMS, WOLF ALICE, TOM ODELL and MYLES SMITH on the main stage, as well as AITCH B2B AJ TRACEY topping the Radio 1 New Music Stage.
Finally, Sunday see’s JORJA SMITH, WET LEG and LOLA YOUNG join the main stage line-up, whilst JADE tops the Radio 1 New Music Stage with the addition of SELF ESTEEM and SOUTH ARCADE. Liverpool locals KEYSIDE and PIXEY will appear on the BBC Introducing Stage too.
