Liverpool’s ON THE WATERFRONT concert series returns for 2025, with a line-up that is easily their most exciting to date.

Taking place at Pier Head, over looking the River Mersey, this year see’s four days packed full of music, from hometown indie heroes, to Ibiza anthems, to hits filled set from one of the UK’s most legendary voices.

Kicking things off on the Thursday, Liverpool’s indie trio THE WOMBATS will perform their biggest hometown show to date. Joining them are Dirty Hit indie-pop quartet PALE WAVES, Manchester’s CORELLA, Birmingham’s OVERPASS and local lads KEYSIDE to create one of the best line-ups of 2025. In a press release, drummer Dan Haggis said “Hey Liverpool!! Think we’d forgotten about you?!! As if! We’re so excited to announce that we’re playing a huge hometown show, back where it all began, on the 19th June 2025!! The Mersey and Liver Buildings will provide the backdrop, we’ll provide the tunes. It’s going to be a special night full of new music from our upcoming 6th album and of course a load of old bangers…so grab yourself a ticket, polish up those dancing shoes and we’ll see you there! The ‘Bats“. THE WOMBATS recently released their brand new album ‘Oh! The Ocean’, which reached #4 in the UK Album Charts.

One of Ireland’s most legendary bands THE WOLFE TONES, will be making the short journey across to Liverpool to headline the Friday line-up. Forming back in 1963, the rebel band will be disbanding this year, with their performance on Merseyside part of their final farewell shows. Brian Warfield commented saying “The city of Liverpool will always hold a special place in the hearts of Irish immigrants into Britain. Over the years, it has also held a special place in the hearts of The Wolfe Tones. The memories of the great occasions in the city including at the Liverpool Irish Centre will live long in the memory. It is only fitting that The Wolfe Tones headline a major outdoor event as part of our Final Farewell performances and we promise that it is going to be a special occasion in a very special city!” Joining them will be THE SCRATCH, SHEA DOOLIN and THE HIGHSTOOL PROPHETS.

To kick start the summer in style, CREAM CLASSICAL IBIZA takes over the Saturday line-up with special guest GROOVE ARMADA, DJ sets from CHICANE, SEB FONTAINE, SEAN HUGHES, TODD TERRY, DANNY RAMPLING, ROB HARNETTY and TALL PAUL. CREAM CLASSICAL IBIZA brings the magic of Cream’s Balearic legacy to life, uniting the Kaleidoscope Orchestra, live performers, and vocalists for a spine-tingling performance. Expect a journey through some of the most iconic tracks from Cream’s storied history on the white isle, complemented by a jam-packed day of DJ sets from some of dance music’s most legendary names.

Finally, to round off the 2025 line-up, the legendary STING will be bringing his 3.0 world tour to Liverpool. The 17-time Grammy award winner will be joined by long time collaborator guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers) to bring a series of hits and rarities from STING‘s catalogue. Joining the final day will be THE CHRISTIANS, TRAITS and SOPHIE GREY.
