On Friday 18th April, THE K’S put on an electric performance at The Great Hall in Cardiff. As the lights dimmed and the first notes rang out, you could feel the excitement of the crowd. From the moment that they entered the stage to ‘Gravestone’ going into ‘Icarus’, the energy was contagious, and the crowd were completely captivated, singing and dancing along to every song on the setlist. From the first chord you could tell this was going to be a special performance and a special night.
Each song was delivered with passion, showcasing the band’s incredible talent and stage presence, it felt that they were at one with the crowd. Every single note struck a chord, from ‘Circles’ to ‘Light Go Down’, the band brought the energy. THE K’S really know how to put on a good show that resonates with their audience, each song was a journey and the way that they transitioned between tracks kept the crowd on their feet and hyped.
The band’s stage presence was one of the best I’ve seen, their performance was on another level and you could tell they were totally in their element, with the close connection to their tight fan base, the band knew exactly how to please the Cardiff crowd by getting involved in the chanting and finishing their set by bringing a Welsh flag out. Closing their set with ‘Hometown’, ‘Helen, Oh I’ and a The Pogues’ cover of ‘Dirty Old Town’ going into ‘Sarajevo’, the band left crowd wanting more.
