South Yorkshire indie quartet THE SHERLOCKS are edging closer to the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Everything Must Make Sense‘. To give fans a glimpse in to the music that will feature on the record, the band headed out on a huge UK tour, bringing both their new material and a chunk of fan favourites to the live stage.

Milton Keynes trio CUSP are already accustomed to the big stage. The three-piece have supported the likes of DMA’S, The Snuts and Red Rum Club over the years, which has allowed them to build up a fan base across the UK that they continue to add to wherever they go. Wasting little time with their entrance, CUSP packed everything in to their support slot. Kicking off their set with ‘Bright Ideas’, their latest single set the town for a very upbeat show that attracted everyone’s attention. The reception continued to get louder as each song finished, with ‘Beside You‘ and ‘Coming Up Roses‘ effortlessly their most well received tracks on the night.

The room soon filled up even further, as a group of boisterous Leeds United supports flooded the premises, bringing their trophy-winning celebrations from the streets in to the venue. THE SHERLOCKS soon made their way on to the stage to a thunderous cheer that filled the room, wasting no time in unleashing into their action packed set. Kicking off with the new albums title track and soon throwing it way back to ‘Escapade‘ from their debut release, the band were already shelling out a mixture of tracks right from the off. The forthcoming records first single ‘Death Of Me‘ made an early appearance in the set list, which has now been in fans’ ears for almost a year and serves as a clear fan favourite based off the passionate reception it received.

Setlist staples ‘Was It Really Worth It?‘ and ‘Falling‘ accelerated the tempo both on and off stage, while the blazing guitar solo for ‘Man on the Loose‘ left the audience in amazement. The high energy in the room persisted throughout. ‘Bones‘ completed the run of new material featured on the night, making it five tracks from ‘Everything Must Make Sense‘,. This now meant that a solid run of crowd pleasers was on the horizon.

The energy in the room skyrocketed during the fiery ‘Live for the Moment’ and the Leeds United supporters kept themselves occupied with more football chants in between songs before being shut down by the booming sound from THE SHERLOCKS. As they entered the final stages of the show, ‘Sirens‘ and ‘Don’t Let It Out‘ kept the mood upbeat before ending in the traditional manner with ‘Chasing Shadows‘ to conclude a forceful return to Leeds and solidify their status as one of Yorkshire’s finest acts of the twenty-first century.
