After a huge 2024 which saw the release of their new EP ‘Weekend Millionaire‘, Birmingham quartet THE CLAUSE look to take on 2025 with a the release of their debut album, plus a huge UK headline tour to conclude what will be their biggest year yet.
Today, the band have released the first taste of new music in the form of their single ‘Nothing’s As It Seems‘, as well as details on their upcoming album ‘Victim Of A Casual Thing’.
In a press release, vocalist/guitarist Pearce Macca said “This record is soaked in the culture of growing up in the UK. It carries the echoes of wild nights and fragile mornings, broken relationships and faded ambitions. There’s no pretence here—just four young heads trying to make sense of it all. This is the sound of feeling lost and insignificant in a city that doesn’t slow down, and the fight to rise above it. The emotion is real, raw, and loud.
The title speaks for itself. It’s about all the ways life can quietly pull you off course without warning. Falling into jobs that were never meant to last. Flings that leave something lasting behind. Expectations shaping who we’re meant to be before we even get a say. Growing up where dreams are easy to laugh at but hard to live out. And yet, we’re right here, in our mould – and that’s okay. That’s something to be proud of. Because it’s ours. In the whirlwind of it all, maybe we don’t realise how lucky we are to be here. This record is the soundtrack of four mates growing up together, turning chaos into chords.”
The debut album ‘Victim Of A Casual Thing’ is scheduled for release 17th October 2025. Pre-order HERE.
Speaking about their new single, Pearce adds “Feeling as if I’m drowning beneath all the noise in the town I was born and raised, ‘Nothing’s As It Seems’ emerged. Whilst everyone around me seems to have their life figured out, it narrates the turmoil of trying to cling onto expiring dreams and sticking two fingers up to the world in the wake of falling short.” – ‘Nothing’s As It Seems‘ is available to stream HERE.
