Australian brothers BIIG TIME brought their debut album ‘200K‘ to the stage for their first run of shows in the UK. Back in 2020, Matty (Planet) and Johnny Took (DMA’S) founded the band and released their first single in to the world, but with each of their other bands’ success, BIIG TIME was placed on hold until recently. Less than a week before their UK tour started, their debut record was unveiled to the world, giving fans a chance to become acquainted with the songs that were to feature on the tour. The first show of the run took place in Leeds, a city Johnny is very familiar with who has played host to some memorable DMA’S shows in recent years.
The band has already gained a lot of popularity very quickly, with the room filling up close to capacity serving as a great example of that. BIIG TIME emerged from the wings as the lights went down, kicking off their set with the album opener ‘Chugging Pills‘. The brothers tried to contain their huge smiles after the first song with the Leeds crowd warmly welcoming the band with huge cheers. No time was wasted though, with ‘Gets Better With You‘ following on from the opener, and further energised both the band and audience.

Matty become much more active on stage once ‘Easy‘ rolled around. It’s obvious that several of their tracks were previously contenders for DMA’S and Planet records but were rejected; nonetheless, BIIG TIME has taken those tunes and made them uniquely their own. Based on Johnny’s explanation of the band’s record title, ‘200K‘, the brothers experience a full circle moment. Johnny mentioned that ‘Parades‘, was one of their earliest songs, now roughly 12 years old and has a special place in both of their hearts. The Leeds audience absorbed it all and respected the moment. Throughout the performance, Matty and Johnny’s guitar combination blends flawlessly while showcasing their individual qualities, making BIIG TIME a collective masterpiece.
The crowd were now ready to join in for a sing-along as the album’s lead track, ‘Bigger Than Nothing‘, was finally played as the atmosphere become electrifying once again. Before heading out to meet the fans, the band received a tremendous roar from the audience as they wrapped up their 50-minute set with their debut single, ‘It’s You‘ to bow out of their outstanding debut UK performance.
