Scottish singer-songwriter RIANNE DOWNEY has today announced details on her debut album ‘The Consequence of Love‘, revealing the first single taken from the record, plus dates for her upcoming UK headline tour taking place later in the year.

Fresh from the back of a huge performance at Bramall Lane stadium in Sheffield alongside Paul Heaton, the Belshill artist is looking ahead to taking on 2025 on her own terms.

The Consequence of Love‘ is scheduled for release 17th October 2025. Pre-order HERE.

In a press release RIANNE said “From busking on the streets of Glasgow to releasing this record, it almost feels like my whole life has led to this moment. The title, ‘The Consequence of Love’, came from one of the last songs I wrote but it captures the heart of the whole album. Each song is the product of the consequence of love.

RIANNE continues  “It’s a reflection on the fragile nature of life and love, I think naturally as people, we often hold onto a childlike belief that the ones we love will always be there, and it’s a painful realisation when life reminds us otherwise.”

The title track is available across digital streaming platforms HERE. The official music video can be found below.

This summer see’s DOWNEY join back up with Paul Heaton for a run of summer performances, whilst dotting around the UK with her own solo sets too.
