If there’s one thing Wet Leg know how to do (besides spark Google searches for “chaise longue”), it’s put on a show. Celebrating the launch of their second album Moisturizer at a sold-out Foundry, the Isle of Wight duo proved once again that they’re not just indie darlings — they’re full-blown rock stars with riffs, sass, and a streak of surrealism that makes perfect sense.

Drenched in white-out outfits and backlit by fog and strobes, the band emerged like a cult you’d definitely join. Lead singer Rhian Teasdale floated through the set like some ethereal rock siren — hair whipping in a slow-mo fan breeze, bathed in a hazy glow, see-through green guitar slung across her shoulder like a badge of honour. She’s fierce. She’s ripped. She’s in charge.

The set kicked off with “Fists” and “Liquidise,” launching straight into a high-energy onslaught of new album cuts and fan favourites. “Oh No” and “Ur Mum” had the crowd screaming in sync, while “Jenbodx” and “Being in Love” melted into each other with sultry swagger.

“Devina” and “Angelica” were crowd favourites, carried by thunderous drums and that unmistakable Wet Leg groove. Clapping? Stomping? Shouting? All present and accounted for. “Excuse me—what?” Excuse you, indeed.

Of course, “Chaise Longue” still reigns supreme — the closer to chaos, the anthem of awkward lust and mischief that never fails to land. And if you didn’t Google what it was in 2021, congrats on your A-levels in French.

The final trio — “Chaise Longue,” “Mangetout,” and “CPR” — landed like a triple shot of adrenaline. CPR and Davina McCall, both singles from Moisturizer are already fan-certified hits.Wet Leg’s performance is equal parts theatre and therapy: cathartic, chaotic, and deeply cool. They don’t just play songs — they weaponise them. With each shout-back chorus and sideways smirk, they reminded us that sometimes the best way to be serious is to not take yourself seriously at all.
