Celebrating 35 years of their Platinum certified third record ‘Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches’, Manchester band HAPPY MONDAYS will be embarking on a huge UK headline tour throughout the spring of 2026.
Reaching #4 in the UK Album Charts back in 1990, the album features iconic singles ‘Kinky Afro’ and ‘Step On’ which have gone on to become just two of the many big hits from the band.
In a press release, frontman Shaun Ryder said “I’m really looking forward to getting back on tour with the Mondays in 2026, especially with our old mates The Farm who are touring with us.”
Bez added: “Really excited to be going back on tour again in the UK next year! I love being on the road with the Mondays, there is no better feeling than playing to the fans of live music. I’ll see you all next year.”
The album remains on the charts until May 1991, just a matter of weeks away from their legendary performance at Leeds’ Elland Road Stadium. That gig will come full circle now on the bands UK tour as they are bringing two of the acts who appeared on that very same show.
Liverpool’s THE FARM and Manchester outfit NORTHSIDE will complete the line-up across the 22-date tour.
The Farm’s lead singer Peter Hooton adds: “We are absolutely delighted to be joining the Happy Mondays as special guests on their forthcoming tour. We go back a long way, having first met them at one of our gigs at the Boardwalk Manchester in 1986, when their style and attitude struck a chord. We also played with them at the legendary Elland Road gig in 1991 and toured with them in 2005, so we can’t wait for these gigs. It will be like a meeting of the tribes once again!”
The Farm released their long-awaited album ‘Let the Music (Take Control)‘ this summer, their first in over 30 years. The band burst on to the scene back in 1990 with their debut chart topping album ‘Spartacus‘.
Northside‘s only full-length ‘Chicken Rhythms‘ was released back in 1991 during the Madchester scene. The record was released under Factory Records, the same label that released Happy Mondays’ albums and was produced by Ian Broudie of the Lightning Seeds.
Dermo of Northside finally adds: “It’s like Elland Road all over again, bit this time we’re all on tour together. Bring it on!”
