Just four days after the release of their debut album ‘Victim of a Casual Thing’, Birmingham four-piece THE CLAUSE set out to celebrate the record with a run of intimate stripped back performances in collaboration with some of the UK’s finest independent record stores. Making their return to the steel city after a triumphant performance at this years Tramlines festival, Pearce and Liam took centre stage for a short acoustic set.

Making their way from the back of the room, the room erupted in cheers as the duo picked up their guitars and greeting the crowd. Opening with ‘Nothing’s As It Seems’, the entire room let their voices be heard right from the off. From clapping along to a louder chorus, it had it all in the first song. Pearce then revealed that their debut album had reached #8 in the midweek charts, which was met with another roaring applause before getting back down to business. ‘Exception’ got the Sheffield voices back singing, with Pearce then giving the crowd the opportunity to pick the next song. Calls for ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Fever Dream’ were overshadowed by ‘Sixteen’, with the duo granting their wishes to perform the track.

Fan favourite ‘Fever Dream’ soon came around followed by ‘In My Element’, both getting the usual singalong that the band are accustomed to at their shows. The final was a great way to cap off a short but blistering performance from THE CLAUSE.
