Keeping up the tradition with their annual Christmas celebrations, South Yorkshire’s THE ROSADOCS made their return to favourite venue The Garrison in Barnsley for not only a show to see out their most successful year as a band yet, but also to spread some festive cheer and group together in an intimate setting.

A very last minute change resulted in CIVIC GREEN‘s hometown performance turning from their usual full band outing to a solo effort from frontman and guitarist Danny Hall. Despite it’s must slower pace in an acoustic format, it was enough to get the Barnsley crowd warmed up ahead of the next two acts. Danny brought out all the big hitters from the bands’ catalogue, from ‘City Streets‘ and ‘Time‘ to the patriotic ‘My Love, My Town‘, all delivered with just as much force as the full band usually do.

Grimsby young trio REVIVALRY are no strangers to the South Yorkshire town. After performing at the venue’s first ever Garristonbury event back in 2024 as well as the re-opening of The Underground venue recently, the youngsters return to Barnsley was welcomed with open arms. From the rawness of ‘The Town‘ and ‘Two Sips‘ that remain set list staples, the trio are not scared to get up close and personal with their crowds, which saw them exit the stage and make their way into the centre of the room for acoustic anthem ‘Blue Underground‘ before returning to normal duties for ‘Lost‘ to conclude their Garrison return.

After two great acts to liven up everyone’s Christmas spirits, it was time for THE ROSADOCS to make their return to The Garrison. Leaving no stone unturned wherever they go, the band thrive in these intimate settings. Met by a huge roar from the sold out crowd, the South Yorkshire quintet opened their set with ‘Bittersweet‘ to get the place bouncing. Quickly following up with ‘Hopeless Optimist‘ and ‘No. 54‘, there were no signs of slowing down from the rowdy audience any time soon. Despite ‘Cross to Bear‘ being a more sombre effort, the joint efforts throughout the room could be heard from outside with ease.

One of their big hitters ‘Towards the Sun‘ remains a clear fan favourite, and one of the tracks that put the band on the map after releasing the song alongside ice hockey team Sheffield Steelers’ kit launch back in 2022. Continuing with further crowd pleasers ‘In the Storm‘, ‘Concrete‘ and ‘Settle Down‘, the band made the surprise addition of their rendition of ‘Disco 2000‘ which had the whole place singing along before rounding off with ‘These People‘ and ‘Too Much In Time‘.

Returning to the stage for one last hurrah, THE ROSADOCS bowed out in style. Keeping the theme of the night in mind, the band performed their rendition of ‘Last Christmas’ before concluding their annual Christmas gig in the only way they know how to end their shows, with ‘Run Away Instead’. As the snow machine poured out over the crowd with frontman Keelan amongst the fans in the centre of the room, it was the ultimate early Xmas party for sure.
