As their ninth album ‘Selling A Vibe‘ is now out in the open, Wakefield brothers The Cribs embarked on a run of intimate shows across the UK in collaboration with independent record stores. With two sold out shows at the Parish in Huddersfield, those lucky enough to be in attendance were treated to new material for the first time plus a few fan favourites to get them warmed up ahead of the UK tour in March.

The band made their way onto the stage, with a roaring Huddersfield audience welcoming them for the 6pm set. Kicking off with ‘Our Bovine Public‘ to warm up the crowd with a song they are already familiar with as the perfect start, quickly followed up with ‘Girl Like Mystery‘ which picked up the energy even more. The title track ‘Selling A Vibe’ served as the first song from the new album, and went down an absolute storm with the audience. Having being met with huge applauses that filled the room, The Cribs had no time to waste.

Having performed the venue back in 2022, a swift return was certainly welcomed. ‘Things You Should Be Knowing‘ led into another new track, ‘A Point Too Hard to Make’. After another positive reception, ‘Another Number‘ came around after Gary Jarman told a brief story about a memory of recording at a studio in Huddersfield over 20 years prior. A few cheered at the mention of Beaumont Street Studios with ‘Martell‘ serving as a fitting track considering the trio celebrated ‘The New Fellas‘ last year.

Throwing in ‘Never the Same’ to keep up the theme of ‘Selling A Vibe‘ material, it was ‘Cheat On Me‘ that had the loudest reception at this point in the set. Rounding off the 2026 release tracks with ‘You’ll Tell Me Anything‘ and ‘Summer Seizures‘, The Cribs thanked the Huddersfield crowd for supporting the record and for coming out on a Wednesday night, leaving them in usual fashion, with ‘Men’s Needs‘.

The place was bouncing and it hadn’t even reached 7pm yet. The Cribs still had another show to get through at 9pm, making it #12 of the ‘Selling A Vibe‘ album launch, but this one felt extra special with it being so close to home.
