After successful runs alongside Free Throw and Origami Angel in the UK, Michigan trio Saturday’s at Your Place took matters into their own hands and kicked off their 2026 with a sold out run of shows across Britain in celebration of their recent album ‘these things happen‘.
Reaching capacity just before 9pm, the crowd were more than geared up for a Saturday night filled with emo bangers. Making their way on to the compact stage to a roaring Leeds crowd, the trio wasted no time in getting the ball rolling. Kicking off with the theme of their latest record in mind, ‘cross my heart’ opened the show, and the Yorkshire audience were all in right from the start. The energy in the compact room was electric throughout the performance, with little to no breathers across the nineteen songs.
Following up with something more familiar, ‘pourover’ saw even more interactions. The energy was still at an all time high, but much louder. Dipping in and out of songs from their new record and previously released material, it was essentially a celebration of everything the band have unleashed into the world. Taking things down a peg with ‘forest bubbles’, the pace quickly picked back up as ‘future’, ‘fetch’ and ‘i’d rather be in michigan’ kept the Leeds crowd pleased.
Packing as much as they could within 60 minutes, fan favours ‘it’s always cloudy in kalamazoo’ and ‘what am i supposed to do’ set up an epic latter portion of the set. As soon as the first note of ‘coffee cups’ were heard, the room erupted once again, with smiles across the faces of the band, the Leeds crowd didn’t disappoint. Rounding off with ‘waste away’ and ‘tarot cards’, both equally as well received, Saturday’s at Your Place concluded their sold out Yorkshire performance with a mellow ending in the form of ‘i give in’, bowing out to a huge cheer for the final time.
