As their eighth album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah‘ is unveiled to the world, Liverpool band Cast embarked on a run of intimate stripped back shows to promote the record, playing acoustic renditions of the tracks to a small number of dedicated fans who purchased the album and contributed to its #8 position in the UK Album Charts.
With no support band on the night, it was straight down to business for John Power and Skin. A packed out Foundry welcomed the duo on stage, as they kicked off with ‘Poison Vine‘ quickly followed by ‘Don’t Look Away‘. Power addressed the audience for his appreciation for supporting the album and gave praise for the brilliant P. P. Arnold, who sung on the opening track and the next track, ‘Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)‘.
The stripped back versions of these songs showcase the rawness of the music but still capturing the elegancy of Cast’s guitar playing and lyricism. Concluding the ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah‘ tracks with ‘Free Love‘ and ‘Devil and the Deep‘, the duo then treated fans to a few golden oldies to round off the night. The surprise addition of ‘Live the Dream‘ eased into the final of ‘Walkaway‘ and ‘Alright‘ as they bowed out of their final show of the two week tour, and setting themselves up for yet another busy summer schedule.
