Returning to the UK in support of their new album ‘God Save the Gun‘, LA alt-rockers Militarie Gun brought their new material and fan favourites back to one of their most visited venues across the pond, Brudenell Social Club in Leeds for a sold out Valentine’s Day performance that brought a shared loved for the band and their energetic anthems to Yorkshire once again.

As the Californian’s stepped out onto the compact stage, a thunderous cheer greeted them for their welcomed return to the Brudenell. As soon as Shelton kicked off with ‘B A D I D E A‘, the crowd immediately joined in for the intro. The band unleashed into their usual energetic stage antics, and this further encouraged the Leeds crowd to get involved right from the off. Continuing to keep the place rocking, ‘Fill Me With Paint‘ was followed by ‘Pressure Cooker‘, a song that guarantees a huge joint-chorus-effort from the crowd, and Leeds didn’t disappoint.

Material from the new album did heavily feature, but with its release being four months prior to the show, there has been plenty of time for fans to become accustomed to the record. Tracks from both ‘Life Under the Gun‘ and ‘God Save the Gun‘ did heavily feature though, making up the majority of the set list, this pleased the crowd entirely. As they dipped in and out of each release, the energy still remained the same throughout. Fingers were pointed, arms were raised and plenty of stage diving and bouncing around on the floor, the Brudenell was electric. Tracks that featured included ‘Will Logic‘, ‘My Friends Are Having A Hard Time‘, ‘Kick‘ and ‘Daydream‘.

As the set began to edge its ending, ‘Do It Faster‘ picked up the pace once again, with easily those most crowd surfers assembled on the night before finishing off with where it started. ‘B A D I D E A‘ got its second run out and the Leeds audience made sure to release every ounce of remaining energy into the finale. Folk were pouring over each other, Shelton was being mobbed for the mic and the room was as loud as ever. A real treat for Valentine’s Day for all the lovers.
