Legendary Wrestler and Rockstar Chris Jericho brought his band Fozzy back to Rock City where the crowd was ready to party from the moment the doors opened.

First up was Marisa and the Moths, The Grunge influenced rock band from Reading opened the night with Fast paced riffs and catchy beats. With lyrics talking about mental health and trauma, the band were adored by fans who were singing back as many words as they possibly could. There was a nice connection between Marisa and the fans as she interacted with fans at the barrier during their set. A band to watch for sure, it won’t be long before they’re back on the Rock City stage headlining.

Following such a strong set was Tailgunner a heavy metal/Power metal band with huge 80’s influence (along with a name stemmed from inspiration from Iron Maiden). I had never heard of this band until the night of the show and I have to say, what a band. I enjoyed every moment, they deserve to be so much bigger than they currently are. Definitely a band in the wrong generation, but they are for sure keeping 80’s heavy metal influence alive. Catchy lyrics, fast riffs, and head banging galore. One hell of a band and one to definitely keep an eye on.

After such a strong and powerful set from Tailgunner, we patiently awaited Fozzy and we thankfully didn’t have long to wait.

Hitting the stage with ‘Fall in Line’ the crowd were instantly screaming back lyrics, head banging and partying. There’s a special love between Nottingham and Fozzy and it certainly shows as Chris declares the night as “Fozzy Friday” and the crowd continue to chant it as though he’s back in the wrestling ring.

The night was an incredible mix of new releases and greatest hits of the band, as well as a couple of covers which included Abbas ‘SOS’ and Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘Crazy Train’

A heartfelt moment came in the night as Jericho spoke about being a fan and friend of Adrian Smith the night before who is an idol to Jericho and they headlined the same venue back to back.

The big moment of the night was when the band broke into Judas, the theme song for Chris in AEW, the crowd went absolutely insane and even though the band were running over curfew there wasn’t a care in the world.

It was an amazing thing to witness and I’m so glad to have been part of that crowd. I hope it isn’t long before Fozzy return for another UK tour because I will definitely be there.
