Alternative rock & roll five-piece Pastel brought their blistering ‘A Little Bit Of Love‘ Tour to Glasgow’s finest School Of Art on 27th March.

The buzzing Friday night opened with local supporting artists Jack Torrance and Sleepy Badgers, before Pastel’s highly anticipated headline kicked off at 9pm. Opening setlist track ‘Your Day’ was an ideal start to the set with high energy and electrifying guitars that easily hyped up the crowd.

This was the second time I’d managed to catch Pastel live, having previously captured their King Tut’s set from their ‘Souls In Motion‘ tour back in 2025. Needless to say I was buzzing to see them live again, and their set did not disappoint. A set highlight has to be Heroes’ Blood‘. The crowd were absolutely loving it and there was a real, tangible excitement in the room when the first few chords started playing.

Pastel have previously shared stages with The K’s, Cast, and Liam Gallagher for his huge 80k-cap show in Knebworth in 2022. Led by cousins Jack Yates on vocals and James Yates on guitar, the Manchester band have already taken their debut album ‘Souls In Motion’ on 2 headline tours, as well as landing at #1 on the Official Record Store Charts.

The venue was a hot and sweaty one, with good vibes and high energy from both the fans and the band throughout. Pastel have a classic guitar-heavy Britrock sound, with plenty of catchy, infectious hooks and gritty basslines. ‘Dancing On a Pin’ and ‘Deeper Than Holy’ were fantastic examples of this, and even more incredible to experience live.

The 5-piece are heavily inspired by the Liverpool band Shack, formed in 1987. You can also hear influences reminiscent of Kasabian and Oasis, as well as elements of The Stone Roses, which you could hear in the closing track ‘Isaiah’.

Pastel have a jam-packed upcoming festival line-up this summer – you can catch them at Kendal Calling, Lazy Days festival, Splendour Fest in Nottingham, and Bloc Party festival in Swansea.
