Just a year after the success of their debut album, Earlestown band THE K’S embarked on a huge UK tour in anticipation of the release of their second record, ‘Pretty on the Internet‘, bringing both new tracks to life and fan favourites to the big stage once again.
Chants started to fill the room well before THE K’S arrived, as the boisterous audience waited for their arrival. The crowd exploded in cheers as soon as the band took the stage, with ‘Gravestone‘ opening their set with little time to waste. The lively bunch was bouncing to the catchy chorus, which has already evidently becoming a crowd favourite. The upbeat tunes quickly continued, with ‘Icarus‘, the former typical opener, setting the venue alight and ‘Chancer‘ just made it more intense to keep the energy high in the room.

People began climbing on top of each others shoulders in no time the moment ‘Hoping Maybe’ kicked in, and what a reception THE K’S had for this one. Both Jamie Boyle and Ryan Breslin voiced that this was the best reception to the song EVER, not just on this tour, or this year…EVER, and there is absolutely no wonder with how loud the Sheffield crowd were, to the point where Boyle’s vocals were barely heard. ‘Glass Towns’ was briefly paused due to a minor crowd incident, so they took it from the top and played all the way through, followed by ‘Circles’ and ‘Black and Blue’ to keep up the momentum.
At this point, the Sheffield crowd was clamouring for ‘Dacton’, and THE K’S persisted in performing the set list in front of them. ‘Lights Go Down’ and ‘Hometown’ kept the crowd entertained, but more chants started to pour in. Once ‘Sarajevo’ was played, it looked like it was all over from the band, but as the chants continued, the Sheffield crwods dreams were fulfilled once ‘Dacton & Wanderella‘ ended THE K’S biggest Sheffield headliner to date. The quartet’s 2025 looks poised to be an incredible year, with ‘Pretty On The Internet’ only a matter of weeks away from its release.
