Freddie Halkon finishes off UK tour at iconic Sheffield venue The Leadmill.

FREDDIE HALKON has been taking the indie scene by storm in recent months and after an incredibly successful support tour with The Reytons he embarked on his own UK tour which finished off with a somewhat home town show.

Every Yorkshire musicians dream is to headline the infamous Leadmill in Sheffield, joining a long line of musical genius and FREDDIE showed just why he deserved to be headlining this venue, throughout the show after every single song “Freddie f*cking Halkon” and the beaming grin from ear to ear, you could see how much this meant to such a young and incredible singer.

The crowd was bouncing from the very beginning of the night as PG CIARLETTA opened the evening up with fun sing-a-longs including a cover from Gerry Cinnamon. If the crowd was going this wild for an opener you can only imagine how crazy it’s going to be for a headline act who doesn’t live too far away.

While the crowd patiently waited for FREDDIE to come on stage, many football chants echo’d the room as Doncaster and Leeds won their respective leagues and Sheffield united had earned a play off spot. A wild show was definitely on the horizon.

As FREDDIE walked onto the stage the crowd erupted into an enormous cheer and immediate chants of FREDDIE ’s name. There was no hiding or denying that this was a special night for him and his friends and family who were in and amongst the chaos of the crowd.

I can’t say I knew an awful lot of FREDDIE ’s music before this night but he absolutely gained a new fan. Room 26, The Girl in the Smoking Room and Four of A Kind were definitely some of my favourites from the night, as well as an incredible cover of Billy Oceans, Love Really Hurts Without You.

The night felt magical from the start and I’m super grateful I got to witness something that will one day go down as a historic performance for one of the next big things from Yorkshire.

If you haven’t already keep an eye out for FREDDIE over the summer as he hits up festivals up and down the country, you’ll not regret it.
