In partnership with Music Venue Trust, Essex rock ‘n’ rollers BILK set off on their longest UK tour yet, playing a number of small, local grassroots venues across the nation. Returning to Sheffield just six months on from their Bring the Noise performance, the band made sure to give their own fans the true Bilk experience that many adore.

The crowd were more pumped up than ever before, as the band made their appearance on to the stage, it was lift off. Kicking off with ‘Brand New Day’, a mosh pit quickly formed in the centre of the room, with plenty of folk from the audience getting involved, while Bilk took advantage of the energy as they let into ‘Rock n Roll’ and ‘Tommy’ to keep up the momentum.

Fan favourites ‘Spiked’ and ‘Blow My Mind’ ensured that the pace didn’t slow down, as “BILK! BILK! BILK!” chants rung out mid way through to the bands amusement. ‘Bad News’ was easily the loudest interaction across their set, wasting no time in getting through their set list.

Rounding off their set in under sixty minutes with ‘Daydreamer’ and ‘Band Life Blues’, a mosh pit formed for the latter as a final opportunity for people to get involved once again before the bands departure. The Sheffield crowd demanded more from the band, and after a swift return to perform one more song. ‘I Got Knocked Out the Same Night England Did’ concluded BILK’s steel city return in style.

With new songs on the horizon, it’s an exciting time to get involved with BILK, who, for just three young lads, pack a punch live and put everything into their sound.
