California emo band Seahaven returned to the UK for the first time in over a decade and they made sure their visit was extra special as they celebrated 15 years of their debut album ‘Winter Forever‘. A packed out Belgrave in Leeds witnessed the record performed in its entirety alongside a series of new material from their soon to be released self-titled fourth album.
As the record was performed in order, fans knew exactly what to expect, but that didn’t take any excitement away though. The band made their way on to the compact stage, with a roaring crowd welcoming them back to the city of Leeds, a location they haven’t performed in since 2014. Kicking off with ‘Goodnight‘, the energy in the room was already flowing. Seahaven themselves were immediately into it, no need to grow into the performance, they were clearly well up for it, as were the Leeds crowd too. Quickly following up with fan favourite ‘It’s Over‘, the audience weren’t going away quietly. The singing continued into further tracks ‘Slow Down‘ and ‘Thank You‘ before picking up again with more efforts for ‘Black & White‘.
Vocalist/guitarist Kyle Soto had little to no interaction in between songs, but that wasn’t something to negative about, it was straight to business. Continuing with the ‘Winter Forever‘ album, ‘Save Me‘ and ‘Understanding‘ kept the die hard fans entertained before ‘Honey Bee‘, a clear favourite throughout the room picked up the energy once again. Seahaven continued to match the intensity from the audience until the very last note of ‘PV‘ to concluded their debut albums’ celebration.
As the ‘Winter Forever’ play through came to an end, Seahaven still had plenty left in the tank to continue their Leeds return. The first single from their upcoming album kicked things back off as ‘Long Goodbye‘ received both positive feedback live as it did when it was released. The surprise addition of ‘Head in the Sand‘ had the whole room screaming, with new material ‘Midnight Hour‘ and ‘February Flowers‘ following suit. As the set came to its finale, ‘Flesh‘ and ‘Harbour‘ rounded the night off in style and a perfect ending to cover all eras of Seahaven.
