Making the trip across the Pennines, ARKAYLA are making themselves known all over the UK currently. The band’s second show of their sold out tour took place in Sheffield, a city they are more than familiar with was bound to be one of the most exciting dates of the whole run.

A very warm Sidney & Matilda hosted the band’s capacity crowd, with a positive energy flowing throughout the room. It was a Friday night after all. As the quartet made their way onto the stage, a huge cheer from their fans welcomed the Manchester band in the best way possible. Kicking off with ‘Lost in Valentine‘, the energy continued to flow as the entire room joined in right from the off. A track very reminiscent of the mid 00’s indie sound, showcases very clear influences that is very fitting with the crowd the band have attracted. Shortly after ‘Long Way Back‘ the mood shifted slightly as ‘Fortune Teller‘ came around. A more jangly tune that still had the entirety of the room focused and engaged.

The youthful audience were getting more and more pent up track after track, which ARKAYLA thrived upon as the set progressed. Despite the concrete floor, there was still plenty of bouncing felt as ‘Falling Down‘ came around. The entire front section of the crowd were bumping off of each other while singing along. The calming into of ‘Ella Malone‘ was met with a huge cheer, while new single ‘Run Kid‘ has already become a firm favourite amongst their fans as the involvement didn’t stop.

Following on from another crowd pleaser in the form of ‘Waste of Time‘, frontman Cal Blakeborough let out the news that this would be the last song of the night. Of course, it was ‘Doctor‘. Fans were climbing upon each other’s shoulders, arms were raised high and voices were certainly heard and the perfect way to see out ARKAYLA’s Sheffield return as they continue to sell out venues across the UK.
