Since supporting the reuniting Oasis in both the UK and South America, legendary frontman Richard Ashcroft has seen his live shows take on countless arenas and outdoor spaces across the UK. The former Verve vocalist released his seventh studio album ‘Lovin’ You‘, reaching #3 in the UK Album Charts, back in October 2025 and has made sure to leave his mark no matter what venue, big or small, the Wigan man performs at.

Former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has been riding his own wave since the release of his sophomore solo record ‘Roadrunner‘. Despite no tracks featuring on the night from his new album, three from ‘The Reckoning’ were included alongside Kasabian classics. Songs that had Bramham Park and Worthy Farm singing along back in their heyday, Meighan gave the Scarborough audience exactly what they wanted. Big hitters such as ‘Underdog’, ‘Club Foot’ and ‘Fire’ were enough to get the crowd warmed up ahead of Ashcroft’s appearance.

Ashcroft’s debut in Scarborough may have only seen the former Verve frontman deliver ten songs, but every single one of them had the Yorkshire crowd gripped throughout. From Verve classics ‘Sonnet‘, ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’ and ‘Lucky Man‘, to much loved solo tracks ‘Music Is Power‘ and ‘C’mon People (We’re Making It Now)‘, Ashcroft ensured to give those who flocked to the Open Air Theatre a night to remember.

The beauty of Richard’s material is that the songs are not short by any means, and with the timeless classic ‘Bittersweet Symphony‘ continuing to be a national treasure in itself, the Verve heart is still beating on 17 year since their disbandment.
