Following the success of their run alongside the reuniting Oasis in 2025, Liverpool Britpop legends Cast continue their own path into 2026 with the release of their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah‘. Achieving their fourth UK Top 10 Album back in February, Cast’s journey hasn’t stopped yet. A sold out midweek headline performance in Holmfirth was the perfect start to the band’s busy summer of festivals, which gave the band and fans the chance to take in all the classics as well as new material too.

It has been almost two years since the Merseyside quartet played The Picturedrome, one of the UK’s most beautiful venues, with a swift return to Holmfirth certainly a welcomed one in the midst of a quiet period in the West Yorkshire town. As the band made their way on to the stage, a huge cheer erupted the room on all levels. In typical Cast fashion, ‘Free Me‘ kicked off the show with pure energy. The pace from the band continued into ‘Sandstorm‘ and their debut single ‘Finetime‘ to unleash a trio of fan favourites to get the crowd pumped up as every lyric was sung at the top of their lungs.

The title track from their previous record ‘Love Is the Call‘ set up a string of fresh material from the new record, giving fans of Cast’s more recent releases a chance to join in. John Power then introduced ‘Poison Vine‘, a track recorded with PP Arnold who sadly wasn’t available to join on the night, but the band still delivered the track with pure excellence. ‘Calling Out Your Name‘ got it’s first run out in a live setting, with ‘Teardrops‘ following to keep the ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ tracks flowing into ‘Magic Hour’ and ‘Mother Nature Calls’ material.

Cast still had all the big hitters to unleash though, with ‘Walkaway‘ and ‘Guiding Star‘ picking up the energy once again, both opposites in vibes but a loud audience were involved for them both as the encore soon came around. As the Liverpool quartet returned to the stage for three more tracks, ‘Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)‘ kicked things off before the almighty riff ripping ‘History‘ set up the grand finale of ‘Alright‘ to give Holmfirth one last hurrah as Cast exited the Picturedrome stage with a roaring crowd cheering them on as they bowed out once and for all.
